You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! (Japanese: Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai) anime adaptation has been officially licensed by Crunchyroll for its 2026 catalog. The platform will stream the series globally, with the exception of Asia.^[1]

Fans attending New York Comic Con 2025 will have the opportunity to watch the first episode ahead of its official release. The premiere screening is scheduled for the 12th of October, 2025. The animation production is being led by Tezuka Productions.

The main voice cast announced includes:

• Serizawa Yu as Akari Hiodoshi
• Hiratsuka Sae as Runa Tsukimi

The anime is based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Misu Shinya. The manga began its serialization in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket on 22nd March, 2022, and is ongoing.
