The Kamen Rider franchise was originally created in 1971 by legendary manga artist Shoutarou Ishinomori, who released the original manga alongside the first television series. His company, Ishimori Productions, has continued to co-produce the franchise with Toei Company ever since.
A more recent addition to the franchise is the manga series "Tojima Tanzaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider," created by Shibata Yokusaru. It began serialization in Monthly Hero’s magazine in May 2018 before transferring to the Comiplex website in November 2020. This manga is directly related to the original series as it is an official collaboration with the same core companies, Toei and Ishimori Productions, that have been behind the franchise from its inception.
Story: Tanzaburo Tojima, now 40 years old, is still dead serious about becoming Kamen Rider. But just as he begins to lose hope in his dream, he gets caught up in a high-profile crime spree involving a group calling themselves the "Fake Shocker" gang… From Shibata Yokusaru, known for Air Master and 81diver, comes a passionate series about grown-ups who love Kamen Rider too much, as they begin a dead-serious game of 'playing Kamen Rider'.[1]
